Homebuilding and renovating award for U-Roof

West Yorkshire-based U-Roof Ltd has been recognised for innovation in construction. U-Roof came away with a “Highly Commended” in a recent national award ceremony sponsored by Homebuilding and Renovating magazine.

U-Roof, which launched its unique u-shaped cold rolled steel roofing system in 2009 to the housebuilding market, received the plaudit along with four other UK firms in the Construction System category.

U-Roof founder and inventor, engineer David Thurston, was delighted by the recognition:

“It’s a big boost to be recognised for a national award in this way – for a product that is a perfect fit for the self build market as well as larger housebuilders. The U-Roof system goes up in a fraction of the time of traditional timber framed roofs. It requires no specialist skills or tools to erect and does not suffer from infestation, warping, twisting or rotting. It also ticks all the relevant boxes for the latest environmental construction methods.”
